1. Question from Steve Cook. Hi Huck's I'd be interested to know (now that some time has passed) if Iwan feels like it was the right decision to release him following promotion. I'm sure it was difficult to take at the time but maybe he see's it more objectively now? For what it's worth I think it was the wrong decision and we would have been better off with Iwan in the team/squad but alot of my mates disagree.

Iwan - No I didn't think it was the right decision at the time, I know I wasn't going to start many games but I was still fit enough, respected in the dressing room and my game wasn't about pace
anyway.

Hucks - I thought especially when we didn't have anyone to replace you,you and Malky could have done a good enough job.

Iwan - I could have come on for the last 10 minutes when you need a goal or need to hold the ball up.

Hucks - I agree totally, around the dressing room you were a big character, we played some game's with Doc upfront, that can't be right, we ended up getting Big Ash to late it took us 13 games to get our first win, think we had 8 draws in those 13 games, turn a couple of them into wins and we're safe

Iwan - We'll never know

2. Question from Bryan Gunn. Have you had any strange/dangerous things happen to you on the golf course over the years?

Iwan - I was playing golf with Gunny, Flem and the club pro at Sprowston, I was walking down the fairway when Flem took his second shot, it hit me clean in the back of my head!

Hucks - I bet Flem didn't shout four or anything.

Iwan - Luckily i was wearing a hat it could have killed me i was dizzy and everything!

3. Question from Steven Clarke. Who was the best manager you played under, and why?

Iwan - Graham Taylor at Watford, he was very knowledgeable and kind of ruled with a fear factor. Players like John Barnes and Luther Blissett were as fearful and respectful as the young pro's. Martin O'Neil at Leicester, you could tell he was gonna be great, he didn't do much coaching but knew how to get the best out of his players.

4. Question from Matt Smith. By Iwans own admission he had a very poor first season, he was overweight, unfit and had his fair share of injury problems, what provided the inspiration to turn it around into becoming the star center forward? Was it his family? The fans? Or just having the determination to succeed?

Iwan - I knew I wasn't in the best shape or playing well. I can remember coming out of the ground with my kid's and fans booing me then the papers saying I was the worst striker of all time. I just wanted to prove I was a good player, nobody wants to be remembered as a failure so I worked extra hard to prove people wrong.

5. Question from Matt Bailey. Prior to winning the Division 1 Championship, was there ever a time that you had the chance to leave Norwich? There was once rumours you were on the way to Cardiff City?

Iwan - I nearly left to go to Cardiff, think the price had been agreed, i think it was 250,000. They offered me a really good contract but i had a word with Nigel, he said he couldn't replace me for that kind of money. I liked it here and if was about the money i could have made a fuss but i just got my head down and ended up with a winners medal.

6. Question from Andy Armsby. Who was your favourite player to be playing alongside to set you up for goals while at Norwich City?

Hucks - There's been a few, you were here a long time.

Iwan - Obviously the 2 that stand out are yourself and Bellers, very similar although the difference is if Bellers had 30% chance of scoring and 70% chance of passing he'd try and score whereas you would be unselfish.

Hucks - I think I was abit older than Bellers though, knew the game a bit better.

Iwan - I honestly don't think he's changed, center forwards are like that though, but you two in my career are the ones that stand out.

Hucks - I'll take that seeing as you've played with Giggs!

7. Question from David Hannant. Has the manner in which your application for the NCFC managers role was treated when you last applied deterred you from applying again in the future?

Iwan - It did upset me to be honest, not so much not getting an interview but I thought I at least deserved a phone call, I've known these people for a long time.

Hucks - A phone call would have taken 2 minutes!

8. Question from Jason MacDonald. Hi Iwan, what was sweeter, the double you scored over Ipswich or the goal at the Millenium stadium?

Iwan - If we'd have won then the playoff goal, but 2 goals v Ipswich means so much to the people of Norwich it was probably those.

9. Question from Dan Salahuddin Clifton. You seem to have gone into media rather than pursue a career in coaching and possibly management. Was there a reason for this and can you see yourself at Norwich again in the near future as a coach or even more?

Iwan - I enjoy what I do, it seemed like a natural fit with me speaking Welsh not that many ex players do and I'm really enjoying it. The problem with coaching seems to be you need to know someone who gets a job then brings you in.

Hucks - There's that many players trying for so few jobs its getting harder and harder.

Iwan - Managers take there own people with them more often than not these days.

10. Question from Kristian Cowles. What is your best memory of playing with Darren?

Iwan - Think your last game on loan was an amazing game, think they had Gabidon and Collins playing,we all knew you were going back and you just ripped them apart everything we did seemed to work.

Hucks - Even Flem scored!

Iwan - Even when you were on a Hat-trick you were trying to set up goals,You were always so unselfish.

Hucks - It was probably over my career my most important ever game, say we'd lost 3-0 i honestly believe the push to sign me wouldn't have been so strong. The game kind of changed my life,i wouldn't be here doing this for a start!

11. Question from George Wilbraham. If you hadn't of been a footballer what would you have been?

Iwan - I'd have gone into the police force, alot of my friends were either going in the army or the force.

12. Question from Brendan Edwards. Hi Darren can you ask him which out of his goals for Norwich was the most memorable, and why?

Iwan - 2 or 3 stand out,the 2 i scored against Ipswich in Bryan Hamiltons first game at Portman Road. At the time the playoff final v Birmingham was very memorable,my final game for the club with the 2 away at Crewe also stand out as i had never scored in the last game of the season.

Hucks - I remember it well, everyone was trying to make sure you scored.

Iwan - Even the referee was trying to help especially with the penalty!

Hucks - you were so tired near the end, you took a freekick with cramp, it didn't reach the goal

Iwan - Great day though, days you remember forever.

13. Question from Paul Usher. Iwan, you have stated twice in the past that you would like to become Norwich City manager. Is this something that still interests you and would you like to be part of Paul Lamberts coaching team?

Iwan - I did apply twice, should have learnt once bitten twice shy! I enjoy what I do now and I think Paul Lambert will be here for a few more seasons, he's got all the staff he needs.

14. Question from Andy Rymarz. I know you're a friend of Craig Bellamy. A) Is it true you all locked him in the coach toilet and B) When you got the goal in the playoff finals did you think it was the golden goal? I have heard you thought we had won it! (Curse that day, we deserved to win)

Iwan - We did, we were travelling up north and Bellers being Bellers got a bit cheeky with the older players so he went to the toilet and Neil Adams did a thing with the bins where theres no chance of opening the door enough for you to get your whole body out, he must of been in there for a good hour!

I did think it was a golden goal, a couple of games in the world cup or something had been decided by golden goal but I didn't realise the rules had changed and it didn't count for playoff finals, so when I scored against Birmingham I was off mate running back to Norfolk!

15. Question from Steven Anderson. Iwan if you could re-live the 'incident' with Kevin Muscat again, would you do anything differently? And how did you feel when the FA decided to ban you for some games after you revealed in your book what you done?

Iwan - No I wouldn't, as a footballer you know if someone tries to hurt you on purpose, you know your going to get the chance later down the line to get him back. The chance came and I took it, maybe I was a little bit stupid admitting it in my book...

Hucks - Muscat deserved it, he was a hatchett man. Just a thug!

Iwan - Yeah he hurt a lot of people, there was no point me doing the book without telling the truth.

16. Question from Mandie Thorpe. What do you think about Craig Bellamy playing in the Championship - is it a waste of his undoubted talent to play at a lower level?

Iwan - I don't think it's a waste theres no two ways about it he could have the pick of half the Premier League clubs with the talent he's got, but maybe Man City didn't want him going to another Prem club. He's gone to the club he supported as a boy, his family are there, its like us signing you at a time when you need something a little bit special. He always said he wanted to finish his career off at Cardiff, I thought it was a little bit early but I think they'll win the league.

Hucks - I don't think it should be allowed, Cardiff a few weeks back nearly went out of business, that's not Bellers problem though, he's had his injury problems so he should do it now.

17. Question from Ian Billinghurst. 1. Did your experience at Gillingham put you off a career in coaching? What went wrong? Have you thought about captaining and entering a team in the Sky Sports masters competition? With you, Hucks and Flem we would be awesome!

Iwan - I enjoyed it when Andy Hessenthaler took me down there, I was coaching the reserves and still playing, Andy then stepped down and Stan Turner took over and I didn't really get to do any coaching. I just didn't agree with the way Stan spoke to the young pro's, I fell out with him a couple of times then I left the next season.

Hucks - I said to you at the time I thought you should have retired after the Crewe, if you couldn't get another season here! But everybody wants to keep playing.

18. Question from Sharon Field. 1. Which player in your career provided you with the best service/opportunity to put the ball away? 2. Can you pinpoint the exact moment when you achieved legendary status at Carrow Road?

Hucks - You've already said me and Bellars were better than Giggs!

Iwan - I think scoring 2 at Portman Road helped but I don't know when you know, it's always the fans that decide that kind of stuff.

Hucks - End of the day every player wants to be remembered for playing well or at least they should do.

Iwan - It's always down to the fans, I'm just grateful that they still hold me in such high regard.

19. Question from Jamie Dady. Hi Darren can you ask him if he felt hurt the way the club released him after gaining promotion?

Iwan - To be honest I was, at the time I did all right things, said all the right things, I'd had a fantastic 7 years we had a great season and I wasn't going to upset the apple cart by saying the wrong thing. Deep down I was hurt, I was 35 and as fit as a fiddle, they could've given me another year.

20. Question from Craig Daniels. 'All I Want For Christmas' is one of my favourite reads - it coincided with my most memorable seasons as a fan and was a brilliant account of the season by my favourite player, then and now. Any plans for a follow up covring the rest of your career, or possibly a blog discussing your earlier years at City?

Iwan - I havent no, someone approached me and asked me to do a diary of the season so I did it, little did I know it was going to be my last season, with us wining the league it was a great time to do it though.

21. Question from Steve Harvey. Considering every manager you played under, who's pre-season regime was the toughest?

Iwan - I've got to say Bruce Rioch, when he took over from Mike Walker oh my god unbelievable mate Bruce was old school, if you know what I mean? He had us running up Mousehold and I think if you asked any player who was there at the time they'd say the same.

Hucks - I started when it was still old school when we had to run all the time before the sports scientists got involved.

22. Question from Darren Hutchings. Hello Iwan, what was your best memory when you were playing for Norwich and why?

Iwan - I think the one that stands out is the last home game against Preston, it was my last home game in front of the fans, you tried to set me up with a goal...

Hucks - You nearly broke your neck trying to get one!

Iwan - The reception I got when I came on, when I was warming up and after the game is something that will stay with me forever really.

Hucks - We'd won the league by then.

Iwan - It was a party atmosphere all day long, it was a sad day my kids were crying that upset me, but when you see all the people out there it does help.

23. Question from Kevin Southwell. Where do you think Norwich are capable of finishing this season and how do the current squad compare to the team you played in?

Iwan - I don't really like to do comparisons, I think they have a great chance of finishing top six. They have a good squad from last year, they've added well to it and they've got goalscorers which is invaluable, their home form is good and they have had a couple of good away results.

Hucks - I think the aim is to still build this season, I think top half of the table maybe playoffs.

24. Question from Andy Ellis. I remember a game against Cardiff in the promotion season when the two of you were actually "unplayable". Has there been a defence or player you always hate playing against because they seem to always have you in their "pocket"?

Iwan - The one i think of when people ask me that is Des Walker,he had one thing that I didn't, to be fair he wasn't the tallest but I'll tell you what Hucks he was decent in the air, he was strong, he always came back at you.

Hucks - I played with Des at Forest abit, he was getting on then but he could still move, not just that, he knew the game.

Iwan - He was clever, no frills, no spills, you knew what you were going to get with him. You don't play in Italy and do well if your mediocre.

25. Question from Frank Watson. Hucks, could you please ask Iwan if he considers Grant Holt to be a similar player to himself, both in terms of his fotball and his rapport with the fans?

Iwan - Yeah definitely he plays the same kind of way, he's big and strong he probably does more out wide.

Hucks - I think he does too much work on the wing, mostly due to the fact we play with no real wingers.
Iwan - I think we are both team players.

Hucks - The thing i like about Holty is he's done it the hard way, played in the lower leagues and earned his stripes, you've scored alot more goals at a higher level, thats taking nothing away from Holty's achievements.

26. Question from James Wallis. Iwan like you a couple of years ago I was shocked to find out I had skin cancer. What effect if any has it had on your life and in the light of the passings of Earnie Cooksey and Tommy Burns, what advice would you pass on to anyone reading this?

Iwan - I was totally shocked, crazy things start going through your mind, you look at your kids different, you think about dying which is really weird.

Hucks - I can remember when you found it, as team mates your scared, but you also dont want to talk about it.

Iwan - I try to tell people to keep off sunbeds and always wear sunscreen. I'll never take anything like that for granted again.

27. Question from Lee Croft. Is it true that Darren Huckerby has the biggest nose out of all the footballers you've played with?

Hucks - I'd be worried about the size of Mr Crofts head and backside.
